Stella Dextre Clarke is Vice-president of ISKO and Chair of ISKO UK, with a background in Management Consultancy. She specializes in the design and implementation of knowledge structures for information retrieval applications, including thesauri, taxonomies and classification schemes.
Stella is a member of the BSI committee responsible for standards on indexes, filing and thesauri, and Convenor of the Working Groups that developed BS 8723 (the British Standard for thesauri) and then ISO 25964, the corresponding International Standard. Stella is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. Her work on the vocabulary standards was recognized in 2006 when she won the Tony Kent Strix Award for outstanding achievement in information retrieval.
