Canada Water Library is part of a large urban renovation project in the former Surrey Commercial Docks in South East London, once occupied by wharves and warehouses for the timber trade. The building, designed by the architect Piers Gough was completed in 2011. It has the shape of an inverted pyramid overhanging Canada Water, a freshwater lake and wildlife refuge. The library incorporates excellent cultural and community facilities, including a 150 - seat auditorium, several meeting rooms and an onsite Culture Café.
The Library is conveniently located directly above Canada Water station (on the Jubilee line and London Overground). Please exit the station towards Surrey Quays Shopping Centre.
